Tib hous 3

Tiburon House 3
Beginning life as a developers Mid Century Modern tract home. The new owners were looking for a new modern expression, with lager living spaces, and to capitalize on the views of the bay.
The house had undergone an earlier renovation converting the garage into a family room, and building a new garage in front of it. Thus there was an awkward single step up into the family room and a low ceiling. We raised the ceiling in the family room, and took down the walls between the former laundry room and kitchen, opening the spaces to each other. New openings from the kitchen to the dinning room and living room, opened up the views from front to back in the house. The kitchen was enlarged and the laundry relocated to the garage. A new entry way created, to allow the hallway to be relocated and the bedrooms to be reoriented. The foot print of the house expanded to the west to create larger bedrooms and and to the east to expand the living spaces. The exterior was renovated by removing the existing siding, and the addition of new larger patio doors with hard troweled lime plaster walls.
This project was completed while Kevin was with Russell + Davis Architects.
